Job Overview

College of Southern Nevada – Federal Work Study Student, Office of Student Government and Leadership Development (Fall 2026). Hiring Department: CSN Libraries. Supervisor:
Ashley Soberanis & Joshua Rushing.

Location:

Henderson Campus.

Work hours:

up to 20.0 per week. Hourly rate: $14.00.

• Check library materials in and out to library users using automated library information systems.
• Shelve library materials multiple times a day, performing shelf‑reading and dusting of assigned sections as scheduled.
• Issue new and replacement library cards to patrons.
• Answer and transfer calls on multi‑line phone.
• Assist walk‑in students in the use of general office equipment, printing and/or various computer related issues.
• Perform daily cleaning and dusting.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Computer experience required.
• Ability to alphabetize with accuracy and speed.
• Ability to push heavy book carts up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and/or sit for long periods of time.
• Dependability and punctuality are a must.

• Customer service skills preferred.
• Ability to interact and communicate well with others in person and over the telephone.
• Ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and courtesy preferred.
• Basic office equipment troubleshooting skills also preferred.

2. Proof of receiving the Student Employment Award (latest CSN Award Notification or screenshot from “View/Accept Financial Aid”).

Only students who have completed this year’s FAFSA and accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package are eligible to apply. Students must show a financial aid eligible major declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar, meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term, and display degree‑compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.

Students cannot work another part‑time position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student.
