Position: Part - Time Instructor, Machining - FY 2027

Part-Time Machining Instructor

Position at College of Southern Nevada – primarily taught on the CSN Henderson Campus and the City of Henderson Debra March Center of Excellence. May be scheduled during the day, evenings, and/or weekends. This is a part‑time position approximately 47.5% full‑time equivalent, exempt.

Responsibilities
  • Lecture and/or lab instruction for Machine Tool Technology (MTT) courses covering topics such as Metrology, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), CNC Milling and Turning (Lathe), CADD and additive or subtractive manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions.
  • Develop syllabi and course materials that align with curriculum standards and objectives.
  • Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
  • Make necessary provisions to meet varying learning needs.
  • Provide advisement to students.
  • Attend staff meetings, recruitment activities, and other required institutional commitments.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Machining or a related engineering field.
  • Or 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of work experience in machining and/or manufacturing or industrial technologies.
  • 2 years of teaching experience in Career and Technical Education.
  • Leadership or management experience.
  • Experience teaching online/hybrid courses and using Canvas.
  • Experience creating college curriculum and developing an industrial lab in a college setting.
  • Experience working in diverse, multicultural situations.
  • Community college or technical school teaching experience.
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to motivate students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Industrial certifications such as NIMS or NC3.
Salary and Compensation

$925.00 per credit hour. Credit hours will vary by semester. Exempt position.
