Part Time Instructor - Speech-Language Pathology

Nevada State University invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty to teach in the Speech‑Pathology Program. Courses may be in‑person, online, or hybrid and can cover undergraduate or graduate material, including speech sound disorders, audiology, neurology, speech and hearing communication science, and related areas. Clinical supervision is also available at our on‑campus clinic or the Rite‑Care clinic downtown Las Vegas.

Compensation is $1,000 per credit hour; courses range from 1–3 credits.

Core Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate content using authentic examples, challenge students to think critically, differentiate instruction, and teach in a multimodal fashion.
  • Scaffold instruction by providing prompts and cues to help students understand content and apply skills, utilizing a variety of resources such as videos, online simulations, guest speakers, and clinical case studies.
  • Present content and engage students effectively online and/or in person, and assess students’ progress and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to planning and preparation of courses.
  • Maintain exemplary writing skills, including the ability to concisely prepare observation reports that lead to actionable change for students.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech‑Language & Hearing Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Active Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA CCC).
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech‑Language & Hearing Sciences, or a closely related field (especially for graduate‑level teaching).
  • Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
  • Previous teaching experience.
