Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Academic Advising Center. The student worker will provide excellent customer service support to Nevada State students while also serving as the first point-of-contact for all inquiries, scheduling, and phone calls to the Academic Advising Center.

Core Responsibilities:

• Serve as the first point of contact for students and visitors at the front desk.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and directing students to appropriate resources.
• Assist with scheduling advising appointments.
• Monitor and manage student check in systems and walk-in advising queues.
• Support advisors and administrative assistant tasks and office projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
• Previous customer service, receptionist, or front desk experience.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada does not sponsor employment-related visas)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting students in a professional manner.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced office environment.

Work Hours:

This position will work up to 19.5 per week.

Hourly Rate:

$12.00 per hour.
