Job Description Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Student Wellness.
The Student Wellness Team is committed to fostering holistic student wellness through collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered support. Our mission is to empower students by helping them identify and address challenges, develop essential skills, and gain insights that lead to positive personal growth. Through advocacy and empowerment, we strive to create a nurturing environment that supports the mental, physical, and emotional health of all students, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive throughout their journey at Nevada State University.
This position plays an essential role in supporting food security initiatives across campus. This position assists with maintaining the full-sized pantry, mini-pantry, and wellness snack box locations to ensure students have consistent, dignified access to food resources. The student worker will support inventory management, restocking, organization, and basic front-facing service functions while upholding the values of confidentiality, respect, and care. This role is ideal for a student who is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting the well-being of fellow Scorpions.

Core Responsibilities- Food Pantry & Snack Box Operations Restock and organize the main food pantry, mini-pantry, and campus snack box locations.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs.
Assist with receiving, sorting, and organizing food deliveries and donations.
Ensure pantry spaces are clean, orderly, welcoming, and accessible. - Inventory & Data Support Assist with tracking inventory and usage patterns.
Support basic data entry related to pantry distribution.
Maintain organized storage systems and labeling. - Confidentiality & Student Support Greet students accessing pantry resources in a respectful and welcoming manner.
Provide basic information about Student Wellness services.
Assist students with understanding pantry processes as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise diligence with sensitive information.
Uphold the office’s commitment to service quality, student empowerment, diversity, and respect. - Outreach & Engagement Support Assist with awareness efforts related to food security initiatives.
Support tabling events or campus engagement activities as assigned.
Support additional Student Wellness initiatives as assigned. - Training & Development Participate in initial and ongoing training related to student wellness, food insecurity awareness, and campus resources.
Learn and follow all Student Wellness policies and procedures. - General Office Support Assist with light administrative tasks.
Answer phones, take messages, and route inquiries appropriately.
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
