Nevada State University invites applications for a Lecturer of Human Health Sciences with a background in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, and/or introductory biology. This is a 12-month position with opportunities to pursue promotion through the lecturer career ladder. The primary location for this position is the Henderson campus. Teaching assignments are determined based on departmental and programmatic needs and may include courses at Nevada State University’s North Las Vegas campus.

The selected candidate will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary team in the Department of Physical and Life Sciences, which supports Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Human Health Sciences.

• Teach 30 credits per academic year, which typically includes 12 credits in fall, 12 credits in spring, and 6 credits in the summer.
• Teaching assignments are determined based on departmental and programmatic needs and may include courses at Nevada State University’s North Las Vegas campus.
• Teach primarily lower-level courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Fundamentals of Life Science, and General Microbiology in an in-person format.
• Serve on departmental and university-wide committees.
• Engage in professional development activities.

• M.S. or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in one of the following fields or a related field:
  Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, or Microbiology.
• Candidates who are ABD will be considered with the expectation that the degree will be completed by June 30, 2027.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
• Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of due diligence background check and verification of credentials.
