We are Lockheed Martin. As an Flight Test Control Engineer (FTCE), you will be part of the Flight Test team of professionals. FTCE will have a strong background in developmental flight testing working with a team of engineers, maintainers and logistics personnel and perform various processes and protocols. You will ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance in all aspects of flight test operations.

The role demands the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Travel, overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work may be required.

• Working with a multidisciplinary test team, ensuring collaboration, timely project completion, and high standards of work.
• Process & Procedure Development:
  Ensure the engineering, maintenance and logistics teams develops, implements, and adheres to robust processes and procedures for all flight test operations.
• Configuration Control:
  Ensures rigorous configuration control practices, ensuring that all weapon system modifications, systems, and components align with company standards.
• Training:
  Maintains and stays up to date current test team training and company standard requirements.

This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

• Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science, or technology discipline
• Experience in working with technical teams
• Developmental Flight Test Experience

Have current flight test experience in the following areas:

• Able to maintain configuration control of the vehicle, subsystems, external stores, Flight Test Instrumentation and software.
• Ability to direct the conduct of system check out procedures to verify the proper operation and function of the test vehicle.
• Being able to coordinate and being the liaison between Flight Test Engineering, Design Engineering, Maintenance and/or Mod Teams.
• Can ensure functional test procedures are approved and properly followed.
• Able to manage, maintain and track configuration changes on the System Under Test (SUT).
• Directs all engineering-related changes to test (SUT) and ensures proper documentation.
• Assists with troubleshooting maintenance discrepancies.
• Coordinates ground testing and staging of support equipment. Reports Aircraft and Ground System status
• Coordinates the aircraft and ground system flight testing schedule and configuration requirements with the appropriate POCs within the Field Operations and Quality Assurance.
• Supports AOL, Flight Clearance, Flight Test Requests. (FTRs), and Mod Planning meetings, as required.
• Creates and maintains engineering task instructions and Engineering Inspection Requirements (EIR's), as required.
• Communicates Aircraft and Ground System status to the Test Team (Test Conductor, Test Pilot, Instrumentation Engineer) and Chief Engineer.
• Able to maintain and stay current with test team training and company standard requirements.
