Tired of being a cog in a giant engineering org? Ready to own something from start to finish?
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, an established $100M+ battery technology company in Henderson, NV. They need a hands‑on electrical engineer who can design complete PCB systems, not just one piece of the puzzle.
As Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll own the full lifecycle of electrical hardware design, from schematic capture through production support. This is a rebuilding role: you’ll replace a retiring engineer who handled all board design and bring fresh energy to a small, tight‑knit team. If you thrive in environments where you wear multiple hats and see your work ship to customers, keep reading.
WhatYou’ll Actually Do:
- Design PCB schematics from scratch using Altium Designer (or similar), including building component libraries, selecting parts, and owning designs through production release
- Work on high‑voltage power systems (up to 1,500V) for energy storage applications
- Support production floor troubleshooting, build test fixtures, and conduct root cause analysis when things don’t work
- Collaborate directly with manufacturing and cross‑functional teams in a flat organization
- Validate your designs through hands‑on testing, not just simulations
Must Have:
- Strong PCB schematic design experience (this is the job)
- Deep understanding of electrical components: capacitors, resistors, ICs, MOSFETs, inductors, trace sizing, thermal considerations
- Power electronics background (battery systems, power supplies, inverters, high‑voltage systems, or similar)
- Hands‑on mindset: comfortable with oscilloscopes, soldering, and debugging on the production floor
- Experience at a small company or small engineering team where you owned projects end‑to‑end
- PCB layout experience (they can outsource this, but it’s a plus if you do both)
- Battery management system (BMS) experience
- Altium Designer specifically (other tools are fine if you can learn)
- UL/safety standards compliance experience
- Engineers from small teams (under 5-10 people) who’ve had to figure things out themselves
- Generalists who get bored doing one narrow thing
- People who want to see their designs in production, not stuck in R&D limbo
- Engineers looking to escape Bay Area/coastal cost of living for a more balanced lifestyle
- Compensation: $130K-$200K depending on experience (flexible for the right candidate)
- Relocation assistance: $5K-$10K to help with your move
- Comprehensive benefits from Day 1
- Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4 PM on‑site schedule (no crazy hours)
- Nevada = no state income tax + significantly lower cost of living than CA, TX metros, or East Coast
- Direct access to the Group President in a flat structure where your technical decisions matter
- Stable, profitable company with 20+ year track record (not a startup that might disappear)
20 minutes from Las Vegas. World‑class outdoor recreation (Red Rock, Lake Mead, hiking, off‑roading). Growing tech presence. Half the cost of living of the Bay Area with none of the state income tax.
