The primary objective of the Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) is to develop and maintain the corporate Oracle databases ensuring data integrity, security, retention, and recoverability. In this role, the DBA will design, build, test, and deploy quality database solutions that are consistent with project objectives, technology architecture standards and departmental best practices.

• Evaluate patch releases from Oracle and patching requests from development, and communicate constraints, issues, and timelines for deployment.
• Manage change control, including maintenance of multiple development, test, QA, and production environments, and deploy approved changes to production.
• Provide 24x7 rotational on‑call support, including Root Cause Analysis, preventative action follow‑through, and participation in weekly operations reviews.
• Perform proactive database monitoring, issue resolution, and database & PL/SQL optimization (performance tuning, query optimization, and supportability).
• Lead implementation and ongoing support of high‑availability architecture (standby logical/physical Data Guard, RAC, hot standby, etc.).
• Collaborate with development project teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
• Participate in project design, Oracle database design decisions, and refine & troubleshoot designs.
• Create and maintain documentation of databases and data architecture.
• Support nightly ETL processing.
• Conduct capacity planning and review of all Oracle databases; produce weekly & monthly management reports.
• Attend project kick‑offs and design reviews to size new environments and recommend infrastructure solutions with cost and resource estimates.
• Develop and implement database security policies and procedures.

• BS/BA degree in a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of Oracle DBA experience with Oracle Database 10g, 11g, and/or 12c.
• Experience with multiple operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Linux.
• Proficient in database backup using RMAN with RMAN Catalog.
• Experience with Oracle 10g, 11g, and/or 12c Data Guard.
• Experience using OEM Grid Control, Enterprise Manager, and OMS.
• Familiarity with tools such as Toad, Spotlight, or other monitoring tools.
• Strong PL/SQL and UNIX/Linux shell scripting skills.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL design, development, tuning, and debugging skills.
• Experience with Oracle security administration.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude, prioritize heavy workload, and work with minimal supervision.
