Packaging Engineer

Job Location:

Oxnard, CA 93030. Salary Range: $30-40 per hour.

Packaging Engineer – Salary Range: $30.00–$40.00 per hour. Must be willing to relocate to Henderson, NV by Q1 2027.

Engineering packaging solutions for large machinery and components distributed to national and international customers.

• Develop and design solutions for packaging Haas machines and accessories for shipping.
• Follow direction of the management team to ensure proper design protocols and procedures are followed.
• Effectively communicate reasoning behind design decisions.
• Remain up to date on new packaging trends, materials, and technology.
• Create, administer, and implement Engineering Change Requests.
• Maintain a task schedule and hold deadlines.
• Take full ownership of assigned projects.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging engineering, industrial design, or related field.
• Understanding of the entire design process from concept, prototype, testing, and production.

Desired qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years’ experience in the design of packaging for national and international shipping.

Education:

• Four‑year college or university degree required, plus related experience, training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred majors:

• Industrial Engineering
• Packaging Science
• Manufacturing Engineering

Minimum years of experience:

• 0–1 year

• Reading, analyzing, and interpreting business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations in English.
• Writing analytical or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and instructional materials.
• Speaking effectively before groups, customers, employees, or the general public.
• Calculating figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; applying arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
• Applying principles of logical and scientific thinking; dealing with nonverbal symbolism, formulas, equations, graphs, etc.

Typical activities: sitting, standing, walking, bending (neck and waist), squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, reaching above and below shoulder, repetitive hand use, simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.

Lifting: 0–10 lbs frequently; 11–25 lbs frequently; 26–50 lbs frequently; 51–60 lbs occasionally; 61+ lbs occasionally.

Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.

Equipment: computer with monitor, keyboard, mouse, trackball, touchpad used frequently.

Noise level: loud.

Environment: general office or engineering lab, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, hazardous chemicals/fumes, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock.
