Summary
Network Engineer 2 – Salary Range: $36.00 - $55.00/hr responsible for installing and maintaining Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) for the enterprise at Haas Industrial Company in Henderson, NV.
Responsibilities- Analyze network needs and contribute to the design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
- Create network and enterprise-wide solutions focused on server and workstation environments, including LAN/WAN connectivity through switches and routers.
- Add new users to the directory and specify their directory structures and system access.
- Troubleshoot network usage and peripheral issues.
- Support PC Specialists and provide assistance as required.
- Resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues and maintain connections.
- Design, install, and support network solutions on multiple platforms within the LAN/WAN architecture.
- Install and maintain local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network devices, wireless access points, and wiring.
- Evaluate local area network hardware and software requirements and make recommendations.
- Monitor and maintain the company e-mail system and Internet access.
- Coordinate installation of hardware and software by other personnel.
- Provide support to and train users in local area network administration and usage.
- Monitor and maintain network stability.
- Communicate and coordinate network schedule, backups, and downtime with users.
- Coordinate third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
- May coordinate other network engineers and Desktop Support Technicians.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
- Accurately estimate workload and deliver high-quality work product in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively horizontally with peers and customers, and vertically with management.
- Demonstrate a high sense of teamwork.

Qualifications- Requires expertise in network hardware, software, and network operating systems.
- 6+ years of related experience.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in networking roles.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS/BFA/BSA) from a four-year college or university is required.
- Preferred major:
Computer Science. - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and write analytical/technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and instructional reference material.
- Strong verbal communication skills; ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, and employees.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) and interpret graphs.
- Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from technical instructions.
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret English business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Must be able to write analytical and/or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and create instructional reference material. Must be able to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees of the organization, and/or the general public.
Mathematical SkillsMust be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. May need to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning AbilityMust define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in text, diagram, or graphical form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
Physical DemandsThe position requires sitting frequently, standing frequently, occasional walking, and occasional bending of neck and back. Repetitive use of hands, fine manipulation, and pushing & pulling are frequent. Lifting 0-10 lbs. occasionally and 11-25 lbs. occasionally. Operate a computer with monitor, keyboard, mouse, trackball, and touchpad frequently.
Work EnvironmentThe role typically occurs in a general office or engineering lab environment with low noise level. Workers may occasionally be exposed to machining, production floor, moving mechanical parts, or vibration. No exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes, or outside weather conditions. Employees work primarily in a controlled environment with minimal risk of electrical shock.
