Role OverviewLockheed Martin Aeronautics Flight Test Discipline Engineer Manager – Level 5
As a key member of the Skunk Works organization, you will lead a discipline engineering team that develops solutions for some of the most advanced aircraft, including the U‑2, SR‑71, F‑22, F‑117, and F‑35.
Responsibilities- Develop and publish test plans and flight test cards.
- Determine and communicate test requirements and configuration to engineering, maintenance, instrumentation, and flight operation personnel to ensure test article readiness.
- Comply with test safety plans and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in test mission briefings, debriefings, and control‑room operations, meeting mission qualification requirements.
- Perform real‑time and postflight data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
- Ability to maintain a Top Secret clearance with special program access.
- Leadership experience, including hiring, time‑tracking, performance reviews, counseling, promotions, and training.
- Proven flight‑test experience.
- Experience working in a mission control room with a multi‑functional test team.
- U.S. citizenship; dual citizenship is not considered.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in Air Data, Electrical Power Systems (EPS), Flight Control Systems (FLCS), Vehicle Management Systems (VMS), Flying Qualities (FQ), Navigation, or Loads.
- Basic understanding of Platform/Ground Hardware, Propulsion, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Fuel/Hydraulics, Landing Gear, Performance, Flutter, Communications, GVMS, and/or Ground Software.

Shift may require extended hours, weekend work, and travel. The position is on‑site at a Lockheed Martin facility and supports a 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week schedule.
