• Review and understand plans, specs, and bid request information
• Knowledgeable in estimating; capable of sheet metal and duct system take-off
• Read equipment schedules and fabrication standards and incorporate information to complete bid package
• Request equipment quotes from vendors & ability to compare vendor quotes to project equipment schedules
• Understand HVAC design principles
• Prepare customer proposals
• Confirm proposals/bids on a scheduled, timely basis
• Develop and maintain good relationships with new and existing vendors
• Follow-up on proposals after bid
• Commercial takeoffs are done using Quotesoft, experience with this platform is preferred

• Attention to detail
• Communication skills, verbal and written
• Experience with Word, Excel, Adobe, and Bluebeam
• Experience with CAD (a plus)
• Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with others
• Mechanical background

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least three years of related experience is required

• HVAC design: 4 years (Required)
• Construction estimating: 4 years (Required)
