We are seeking a Lead
Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Henderson, NV to support the continued growth of its Minerals & Metals business. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical leadership, client engagement, business development, and team growth within one of North America's leading engineering organizations.
The successful candidate must have a
unique combination of mining experience, technical leadership, and U.S. PE qualifications or ability to obtain through reciprocity. In addition to strong technical capabilities, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to build client relationships, support project pursuits, contribute to proposal development, and help grow a high-performing mechanical engineering team.
The Henderson office supports mining, industrial and heavy process projects across North America, including concentrators, material handling systems, processing plants and large‑scale industrial facilities. The team works on projects from early studies through detailed engineering and construction support, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across the U.S. and Canada.

Your role- Act as Mechanical Discipline Lead on medium to large mining and industrial projects.
- Support business development activities by contributing to technical proposals, scope definition, project execution strategies, and client presentations to help secure new projects.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, act as a trusted advisor, and identify opportunities for repeat business and new project pursuits.
- Contribute to the growth and strategic development of the Mechanical Department, including resource planning, recruitment, workforce development, and succession planning.
- Participate in staffing decisions, workload forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure the effective execution of projects and sustainable growth of the discipline.
- Promote a business-oriented mindset within the discipline by balancing technical excellence, project delivery performance, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Serve as a technical authority for mechanical systems in concentrators and industrial facilities.
- Oversee and ensure the performance of discipline deliverables across assigned projects
- Assess professional effort and provide clear visibility of progress and performance indicators (CPI and SPI) for the discipline.
- Participate in conceptual, pre‑feasibility, feasibility, and detailed engineering studies.
- Lead and supervise the production of engineering deliverables (calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports).
- Prepare or review technical specifications for the procurement and installation of mechanical equipment.
- Oversee design calculations (pumping systems, water/air networks, slurry systems, tanks, hoppers, chutes, pump boxes, material handling equipment and mechanical structures).
- Review and validate P&IDs, data sheets, and vendor documentation.
- Perform technical evaluations of vendor bids and proposals.
- Supervise and mentor engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Review and approve design calculations, quantity take‑offs and cost estimates.
- Ensure interdisciplinary coordination with process, structural, electrical, civil and instrumentation teams.
- Support construction, commissioning and field activities as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in mining and/or heavy industrial projects.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Discipline Lead or Technical Lead.
