Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Purchasing and Contracts Manager in the Department of Finance. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general direction, manages and coordinates the procurement function for the City of Henderson including the financial and legal oversight of all City purchases, and performs related duties as assigned.

Note:

This is an unclassified position not covered by the City of Henderson Civil Service Rules. This means that the incumbent s employment is at-will, and may be terminated with or without cause or notice, at any time by the incumbent or the City.

Salary and Benefits
  • Competitive Salary Range of $98,566.73 - $ Annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate s qualifications as well as internal equity

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration or a related field
  • Six (6) years of increasingly responsible purchasing experience that included two (2) years of government procurement experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Note:

    An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
  • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or border state driver s license, as defined by NRS 483
  • Desirable:
    Must possess a public purchasing certification
