Police Officer

The Henderson Police Department is hiring Police Officers. Applicants will be processed throughout the year on an ongoing basis.

Under general supervision, perform law‑enforcement duties related to detecting, preventing, and investigating crime and maintaining law and order. Perform related duties as required.

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Valid driver license; upon hire possess a Nevada or "border state" driver license as required by Nevada law.
• U.S. citizen by the time of application.
• At least 20 years old at application and 21 by start of academy.
• No convictions for offenses greater than a misdemeanor or domestic violence offenses.
• Visual acuity correctable to 20/40 in one eye and 20/30 in both eyes.
• Hearing 30 decibels or less for each ear.
• Successfully complete the Henderson Police Department Academy within the prescribed time frame.
• Pass a nationwide fingerprint‑based record check and a warrants check.
• Complete Security Awareness and NCIC/NCJIS certification within six months of hire and maintain certification as a condition of continued employment.
