Job Overview

The Henderson Police Department announces the opening for a Police Officer. Processing and testing of applicants will occur year‑round.

This position is for individuals who are committed to public service and community safety.

Under general supervision, performs law‑enforcement duties related to detecting, preventing, and investigating crime, maintaining law and order, and performing related duties as required.

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Valid driver license; upon hire, a Nevada or authorized border‑state license.
• U.S. citizen by the time of application.
• At least 20 years of age at application and 21 by the start of academy.
• No convictions for offenses greater than a misdemeanor or domestic violence.
• Visual acuity correctable to 20/40 in one eye and 20/30 in both eyes.
• Hearing must be 30 decibels or less for each ear.
• Must successfully complete the Henderson Police Department Academy within the prescribed timeframe.
• Must pass a nationwide fingerprint‑based record check.
• Must complete Security Awareness and NCIC/NCJIS certification within six months of hire and recertify every two years.
