Engagement and Programs Specialist

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Engagement and Programs Specialist in the Department of Communications. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year. Under general supervision, manages programs, performs community engagement and outreach, public engagement and communication activities as well as research and analysis;

and performs related duties as assigned.

Please note:

while the current Engagement and Programs Specialist vacancy is within the Department of Communications, the list that is established may be used to fill vacancies in the Department of Community Development and Services.

Salary and benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $66,395.24 - $99,592.86 annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity*
  • Base wage increase upon successful completion of initial probationary or qualifying period**

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, communications, or a closely related field
    • Three (3) years of full-time experience in community outreach, public engagement, program coordination, or related public sector services
    • Note:

      an equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
    • May be required to possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483, depending on assignment
