Responsibilities

West Henderson Hospital is our seventh acute care hospital in the Valley Health System. It is located at the southwest corner of Raiders Parkway and St. Rose Parkway, near the Las Vegas Raiders' headquarters. The 150-bed hospital is equipped to care for patients with a variety of medical needs. Services available include emergency care, cardiac care, neurology care, surgery, gastroenterology and inpatient care for medical needs such as pneumonia.

Manages the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, including disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, high level disinfection, and sterilization. Cares for and operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment. Completes quality monitoring and documentation. Picks supplies and instruments to prepare case carts for surgery. Performs quality assurance activities. Assists with supply inventory management and clinic instrument rounds. Assists with mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile Processing Techs.

Performs all duties with a commitment to excellence, quality, and customer service.

Shift: PART TIME WEEKEND NIGHTS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Twelve (12) months minimum in Sterile Processing.

Technical

Skills:

Due to the highly technical nature, especially related to interpretation of manufacturer’s Instructions For Use (IFU), ALL SPD staff must be proficient in spoken and written English.

License/Certification: Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through International Association of Healthcare Central Sterile Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) is required. Certification must be maintained.

Other: Various applications related to Instrument management (Censis, One Source), Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
