Position: Human Resources Technician*

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Human Resources Technician in the Human Resources Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, provides clerical, technical, and administrative support in one or more functional areas of Human Resources; provides customer service and assistance to City employees and the general public; and performs related duties as assigned.

The current vacancy is within the Recruitment and Talent Acquisition division; however, the eligibility list established from this recruitment may also be used to fill positions in other divisions within the Human Resources Department including: HR Administration, Classification and Compensation, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and Recruitment & Talent Acquisition.   • HR Administration: Provides front desk support, handles file room administration, records requests, office orders, and invoicing.

  • Classification & Compensation: Assists with administrative processes, data analysis, and project management supporting the City’s compensation programs.

  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS): Performs People Soft data entry, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Coordinates complex pre‑employment processes, including managing background screenings, prehire coordination, and onboarding of new employees.

Successful candidates will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), skilled at multitasking, detail‑oriented, highly accurate, customer‑focused, strong time management abilities, critical thinking, effective collaborator, and proactive problem‑solver.

Salary and Benefits
  • Competitive Salary Range of $24.92 - $37.99 Hourly; salary placement for non‑represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity
