SummaryThe National Director - Showsite Labor will direct all aspects of the Freeman Audio Visual showsite labor teams including full and part time union and non-union employees as well as independent contractors. This position will direct national labor process and procedures, as well as provide oversight to all showsite personnel.
This position will support our AV Production team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week based out of Las Vegas, NV.
- Develop and accomplish goals by establishing desired outcomes, defining results, setting time tables, and determining resource needs.
- Analyze the labor resources (full time, part time, union, vendor, independent contractor) and determine best use on an overall basis. Oversee branch staff in implementation of labor sources and process.
- Research, understand, and apply state and national labor laws for branch staff managing show personnel;disseminate applicable laws. Ensure GMs and branch staff is in compliance with labor laws.
- Develop, implement and oversee processes and procedures for scheduling show personnel through existing team of labor coordinators to ensure consistency and best use of personnel.
- Research software application to gain national access to scheduling of show site personnel and directimplementation and oversight of system.
- Develop and implement processes to utilize current labor database in daily scheduling of labor.
- Recruit, hire, and train appropriate new talent into the national labor pool.
- Align showsite titles and levels (allowing for regional needs).
- Refine training programs for the onboarding and training of full and part time show site labor. To address:
- Standards and Processes.
- Legal and business ramifications of payroll management.
- Participate in IATSE negotiations ensuring consistency among contracts and contract management with afocus on individual state laws and trends within IATSE.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with key IATSE staff nationwide.
- Collaborate with legal department to manage all current contracts and notify personnel nationwide ofchanges and updates, as well as handle dispute resolution.
- Establish efficiencies with measurable fiscal impact.
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- 4 years managerial experience in this field.
- 10 years of related experience in multi faceted areas of operations.
- Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, and problem resolution skills.
- Understanding of employment laws such as Title Vll, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, etc.
- Understanding of O.S.H.A. requirements.
- Successful at leveraging technology and people to optimize efficiencies and service delivery.
- Develop a culture of continuous process improvement.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, managing and retaining employees.
- Ability to effectively present written and verbal communications.
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
- Solid understanding of Audio Visual industry (or closely related entertainment industry).
- Solid understanding of labor laws.
- Ability to develop and adhere to project timelines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time.
