Director of eCommerce - Nutraceutical

Our client is a provider of cutting-edge nutritional and functional products with a new opportunity for a Director of eCommerce to join their team. You will lead direct-to-consumer digital business and be responsible for driving measurable revenue growth across owned channels. You will build and develop a high-performing digital marketing team, establish clear workflows and accountability, ensuring projects are executed on time and to standard.

The role is highly execution-focused, developing scalable digital growth systems. You will convert the company's vision and direction into coordinated, high-performing execution across DTC channels.
  • Extensive DTC and eCommerce leadership experience and expertise required. Nutraceutical background (pharma or functional foods may be considered).

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional digital marketing team, establishing clear accountability, workflows, performance standards, and operational systems that enable effective execution while supporting team development and managing agency and vendor partners.
  • Translate ideas into actionable plans with clear ownership, timelines, and deliverables; set departmental priorities; coordinate execution; and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Own DTC e-commerce performance, including revenue, conversion, AOV, CAC, subscription metrics, and lifetime value, while leading website merchandising, funnel and landing page optimization, SEO coordination, personalization, catalog management, and customer experience improvements.
  • Lead testing and optimization across offers, product pages, checkout flows, subscriptions, and customer journeys, and translate founder-led promotions and educational initiatives into high-performing digital funnels and conversion paths.
  • Oversee lifecycle marketing strategy across email and SMS, including automated flows, segmentation, and personalization, to improve retention, repeat purchase behavior, subscription conversion, and long-term customer value.
  • Oversee social media and social commerce execution across key platforms, aligning content, promotions, paid media, creator partnerships, user-generated content, and community engagement with customer acquisition and retention goals.
  • Own reporting and performance analysis across DTC channels, build dashboards for executive leadership, turn insights into optimization and resource allocation decisions, identify growth opportunities, and provide recommendations to improve campaign performance over time.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years experience in digital marketing or e-commerce, including 3-4 years in a leadership role scaling DTC operations and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, functional foods, or founder-led health and wellness brands is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success building and leading high-performing marketing teams with strong accountability, operational discipline, and independent execution.
  • Deep hands-on experience in DTC funnel development, conversion optimization, lifecycle marketing, subscription models, and ROI-driven marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn company vision into organized, scalable marketing systems and campaigns.
  • Advanced knowledge of e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, marketing automation, analytics tools (GA4, Triple Whale/Northbeam), landing page tools, and attribution systems.
