Position Title: Buyer/Planner

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 / year, DOE

The Buyer/Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring that production has the necessary materials on time. This position involves managing inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock. The Buyer/Planner will negotiate with suppliers on pricing and terms while addressing any issues related to delays or quality. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and track costs effectively.

The Buyer/Planner will also be involved in building relationships with vendors to enhance supply chain efficiency.

• Buy materials to ensure timely production & create and update purchase orders
• Manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess
• Collaborate with suppliers on pricing, timelines, and order specifics
• Resolve issues such as delays, shortages, or quality concerns
• Maintain accurate systems with updated pricing and order information
• Track costs to help manage spending & identify and evaluate new vendors
• Build strong relationships with suppliers & work with suppliers to improve cost and lead times
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and pricing

• 2+ years in purchasing, planning, or supply chain
• Comfortable negotiating pricing and terms
• High school diploma
• Experience with inventory, MRP, or procurement
• Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, etc.) is preferred
• Strong Excel skills are preferred
• Experience in manufacturing or supply chain environments is preferred
