About the OpportunityThe Procurement Lead for strategic Capability Partners reports to the ASC Procurement Manager for Transformation and Partnerships as part of the Corporate Procurement function for the organisation. The Procurement Lead role will manage strategic procurement activities covering sourcing of key capabilities from the industry, negotiating strategic partnership agreements to achieve value for money outcomes, provide proactive internal and external stakeholder management and ongoing contract management with capability partners to uplift ASC’s readiness to sustain nuclear powered submarines.
The role is responsible for leading engagement with strategic suppliers and undertaking contracting, management and procurement activities at all levels including defining strategic sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, coordinate contracting and procurement activities ensuring value for money and delivery on time while managing subcontractor risk.
This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA or at Henderson in WA.
Responsibilities- Establish relationship and liaise with the supplier regarding contract development, negotiations and variations providing effective governance to ensure the supplier is performing in accordance with the contract.
- Manage key contract performance in cooperation with respective contract owners.
- Develop and report on strategies and sourcing plans that provide value for money, support on time delivery and manage ASCs risk.
- Establish relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that sourcing strategies are aligned with the business objectives and to enlist their support in participating in these activities.
- Understand complex contractual terms and conditions to mitigate risk.
- Ensure that best practice procurement is applied across the engagement of capability partners.
- Provide mentoring to all relevant team members and foster continuous improvement within the team.
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing or resource environment including experience with significant strategic partnership agreements.
- Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or related fields.
- Proven experience in delivering significant cost savings and other business value through the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and negotiations.
- Knowledge of and ability to deliver on strategic sourcing, negotiating collaborative outcomes, contracting principles and best practice strategies.
- Proven experience with project management skills to manage sourcing projects to agreed budget restraints and timelines.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to work collaboratively to ensure optimum commercial outcomes.
- Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case development, liaison and management will be highly regarded.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
