Austal has entered into a landmark Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA) with the Commonwealth of Australia, launching a new era of continuous naval shipbuilding within the Henderson Defence Precinct and across Western Australia. As Australia’s Strategic Shipbuilder, Austal will start by delivering eighteen Landing Craft Medium and eight Landing Craft Heavy vessels for the Australian Army. The SSA will drive significant growth across our industry and workforce, as we deliver existing and future programs under a long-term partnership.

About the Opportunity As The Warehousing and Logistics Manager for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you will be responsible for leading Warehouse and Logistics activities in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, whilst driving continuous improvement activities.

The Warehousing and Logistics Manager is responsible for the warehousing and logistics performance and outputs and manages any subcontracted warehousing and logistics activities. This is your opportunity to contribute to projects of national significance. What’s Involved Lead and manage a high-performing Warehousing and Logistics function, comprising both direct employees and subcontracted service providers as required.

Provide end-to-end management and oversight of warehousing operations, including receiving, storage, kitting, distribution, expediting, assurance, issue, and maintenance of materials and equipment.

Coordinate the efficient distribution of materials across multiple sites, including the central warehouse and satellite stores, to support operational and program requirements.

Deliver a consistently high standard of internal customer service, ensuring materials availability, responsiveness, and reliability.

Identify, lead, and embed continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing and logistics to improve safety, efficiency, cost, and service performance.  Desirable Skills / Experience / Attributes:

Essential:10 + Years relevant Supply Chain, Warehousing and Logistics experience within a ship building/sustainment, engineering, manufacturing or Defence organisation

Strong understanding and working experience in a computerised ERP environment Strong leader and coach, with excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills

Strong customer focus

Forklift License Desirable:

Cert III in Front Line Supervision or higher

Tertiary level qualifications in Warehousing and Logistics, or Supply Chain, IFS experience   Why Austal Competitive compensation and benefits package.
