Project Coordinator

Overview

VCI Construction is seeking a Project Coordinator. You will report to the division Project Manager, work closely with supervisors and field employees. The ability to multi-task is essential. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, resourceful, a good problem solver, and organized.

• Ability to read telecom system prints or prior experience reading engineering drawings.
• Manage subcontractors for electrical work.
• Report production, status of jobs, and billing information.
• Construction Work Face Planning experience preferred.
• Project Controls 1–3 years of experience on construction projects is ideal.
• Detail-oriented and able to perform quality assurance audits on reporting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are a MUST.
• Must be able to work independently to complete deliverables daily.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel); ability to navigate large data sets to support contractual reporting requirements quickly through pivot tables, sumifs, v-lookups, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Permit experience required
• Possess valid driver’s license
• At least 1–3 years of relevant experience
• Must be able to pass background and drug screens
• Good organization, multi-tasking, time management, and documentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience/knowledge of State, Highway Department & Municipal requirements for Tele-Communications construction permitting processes
• Working knowledge of traffic control permitting requirements
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.); demonstrate proficiency with Adobe Professional and Microsoft Project
• Some knowledge of as-builts
• Demonstrates a strong capacity to quickly adapt by learning new skills and unlearning outdated ones

• Construction experience preferred but not required
• Permit experience required
