Position Summary

Operates equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, stacking, receiving, loading, and maintaining an accurate inventory. Shuttles trailers between two buildings using a yard truck and backs trailers into loading docks. Operates a sit-down, 3-tiered forklift in a food production and warehouse environment with racking systems up to four levels high. The forklift operator must be willing to adapt to changing conditions and perform multiple tasks throughout the shift, including tasks beyond what may be outlined in this job description.

Essential Duties and Requirements

Essential Duties and Requirements include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides full-cycle recruitment on a variety of positions, with more of a focus on director level and higher and hard to fill positions.
  • Completes safety inspection of forklift and yard truck; records inspection on checklist.
  • Loads and Unloads trucks using forklift and accurately records lots, quantities, and storage.
  • Accurately tags product, records in WMS, and places it in the proper location.
  • Accurately records all product movement in the WMS to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Utilizes First In First Out (FIFO) method of inventory control to ensure high quality.
  • Loads outgoing shipments and verifies the correct items and quantities are picked for the order.
  • Inspects all inbound and outbound trucks for holes in trailer, infestations, chemicals, and other potential food safety issues.
  • Completes trailer inspection check sheet.
  • Receives finished goods from production and accurately records the location in the WMS.
  • Ensures that outbound trucks are safety sealed.
  • Drives a yard truck to shuttle trailers between buildings and backs trailers into loading docks safely and efficiently.
  • Performs daily housekeeping chores.
  • Responsible for recognizing and reporting food safety and employee safety issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
  • At least two years of forklift experience required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience driving a tractor trailer or jockeying trailers using a yard truck preferred.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Rate

The expected base pay rate for this position is $24.50/HR plus a $2/HR shift differential for 2nd and 3rd Shift
