Forklift Operator

Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating the forklift to move product and materials around the facility in an efficient manner while adhering to all established safety policies and procedures.

• Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Load trucks with the proper tile color and profile in a timely manner.
• Ride on and off the forklift consistently throughout the shift.
• Unload inner-company transfer trucks and assist with unloading other shipment materials in a timely manner.
• Properly complete all shipping and receiving documents and record pick sheets/slip changes with product loaded.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and document all scrap material.
• Participate in yearly/monthly inventory counting and reconciliation.
• Review all product loads to assure product being shipped meets quality Boral specification (Zero Breakage).
• Follow all safety and environmental protection rules and procedures.
• Present a professional manner to internal and external customers at all times.
• Adhere to all housekeeping rules and procedures for yard and forklift.
• Complete the daily Forklift Check Sheet.
• Operate in non-controlled weather environments.
• Perform other duties as directed.

• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Good communication skills.
• Team player, reliable, and high work ethic.

High school diploma preferred. At least one year of related experience. Able to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions.

• Exposure to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable.
• Withstand temperature extremes inside or outside.
• Prolonged standing or stationary position.
• Perform repetitive movements.
• Bend and/or twist.
• Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds.
• Move or traverse throughout the facilities.
• Work around dust, chemicals, and other substances in various environmental conditions.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, hardhat).

$22.72 per hour. Pay reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. markets and may vary by location and experience. Total compensation may include sign-on payments and other benefits such as medical coverage.
