Position: Mach Shop Tech Specialist (51433)

Summary

Position will start in Oxnard, CA and relocate to Henderson, NV in early 2027.

Machine Shop Technical Specialist Salary Range: $38.00 - $64.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Access and understand daily and weekly schedules.
  • Find, read, write and follow work instructions displayed electronically (iPad).
  • Correctly use all precision measuring instruments to verify part integrity.
  • Correctly load and unload parts.
  • Set‑up and manage applicable tools.
  • Make any machine adjustment to maintain part integrity.
  • Restart the machines at the required place in the operation.
  • Design and make fixtures using CAD.
  • Generate an effective CNC program using CAM.
  • Produce good parts when given just a blueprint and a machine.
  • Design and implement a complete machining process that will run continuously unattended, including probing, backup tooling, macros, and complex fixtures.
  • Identify the proper gauges to ensure part integrity.
  • Train operators to run the machines and produce good parts upon completion of a setup.
  • Train others on machining principles and techniques.
  • Maintain machines (oil, coolant, filters, and cleanliness).
  • Display the leadership qualities required to keep multiple machines running effectively.
  • Present and communicate technical issues at the highest level within the organization.
  • Identify potential machine geometry issues causing bad parts.
  • Follow all safety requirements within the department.
  • Operate powered and non‑powered material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jack, cranes, and mobile straddle stacker lift.
  • Follow instructions, procedures and elevate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
  • Exhibit honesty and integrity and adhere to rules, procedures and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not have any supervisory activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Reads and understands blueprints.
  • Knows how to inspect a part.
  • Understands proper applicable cutting tool selection, tool wear and cutting tool applications.
  • Requires technical leadership.
  • Can troubleshoot all technical issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
Education

High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) credential such as GED is required, plus an additional one to three months of related experience, training and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations in English.
  • Ability to write analytical and technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and instructional reference material.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability

Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret extensive technical instructions in various forms and handle abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, reaching above and below shoulder level, and repetitive use of hands for grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.

Vision Requirements

Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment: all required.

Work Environment

General office or engineering laboratory environment (rarely) and production floor (frequently). Exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, hazardous chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold or heat, and risk of electrical shock.

Loud.

Lifting Requirements
  • 0-10 lbs.: frequently.
  • 11-25 lbs.: frequently.
