What is a Production Technician?
The Production Technician performs a variety of manual tasks involving mechanical, electrical assembly and test operations on assigned product lines. Duties include painting, deburring, routine assembly, material handling, inspection, and preventive maintenance. This is a first‑shift position from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities- Assemble and test products within the qualified area.
- Accurately document and track materials and inventory.
- Ensure proper packing, documentation, and delivery of products and systems.
- Visually inspect products to detect damage or deterioration.
- Inspect, test, and evaluate all parts manufactured in the specific assembly area; perform quality‑related analyses.
- Track inventory and prepare related documentation on a computer.
- Perform material handling tasks such as crating, packing, shipping, receiving, picking, lifting, and moving; use equipment like lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, and high lifts as needed.
- Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.
- Comply with all safety procedures, including wearing protective clothing and handling chemicals or hazardous products.
- Communicate effectively with employees at all levels, suppliers, customers, and peers.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, standards, and rules.
- Maintain quality assurance in line with ISO standards.
- Keep the work area clean, orderly, and safe.
- Demonstrate punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
- Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.
- One to three years of related manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Ability to read and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
- Skill in reading simple blueprints and technical specifications.
- Capability to handle non‑routine, standard projects and tasks.
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds using proper techniques and equipment.
- Regular walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and reaching with hands or arms.
- Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold.
- Exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring strict adherence to safety rules and standards.
- Overtime required periodically to meet project deadlines.
- Medical approval required to wear respirator protection; may involve clean‑shaven requirement for certain roles if cross‑trained for painting or sandblasting.
