SUMMARYThe Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Engineering Supervisor and is responsible for leveraging mechanical and technical expertise to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment. This role is accountable for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing machinery to support uninterrupted production operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESKey responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions and product quality issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and carrying out the installation, relocation, or removal of production equipment as required. The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maximizing equipment uptime, minimizing production downtime, and ensuring all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with established quality, safety, and operational standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in mechanics or electronics preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair basic production equipment.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance operating tasks with technical troubleshooting.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support operators, leads, and supervisors.
- Basic computer skills for recording production and maintenance information.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry battery components, equipment, or tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, and reaching during production tasks.
- Repetitive hand and wrist motions while handling parts, tools, and fixtures.
- Exposure to production conditions, including varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential contact with battery chemicals or related materials.
- Consistent use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and protective gear, in compliance with safety protocols.
