SCADA Systems Engineer
This is an open and continuous recruitment which will remain open for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days and close without notice once a sufficient pool of highly-qualified candidates has been created. The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of SCADA Systems Engineer in the Department of Utility Services.
The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year. The Department of Utility Services provides vital water and wastewater services to our citizens while protecting the environment, health and prosperity of our community. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Windows System Administrator to design, manage, and maintain our Microsoft-based infrastructure in a SCADA Operational Technology environment with 24/7 operations.
The ideal candidate will ensure the reliability, security, functionality, and optimal performance of Windows servers, Active Directory, and related services while supporting business-critical systems. Under general supervision, performs complex application, administration, development, and support work on the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems in support of SCADA controlled operations functions within the Department of Utility Services (DUS), and provides project and program leadership to professional and technical staff;
and performs related duties as required.
Ideal Candidate Information The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A comprehensive understanding of Active Directory architecture and management
- Experience in Group Policy, managing a large-scale Windows environment
- Experience with advanced Power Shell scripting in support of designing and maintaining automation tools
- Experience in developing and implementing best-practice security policies and procedures in a Windows environment
- Understanding of basic network configuration and troubleshooting to include IP addressing and subnetting, VLANs, routing, firewall configuration and management, and using diagnostic tools

- The expected schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:00 pm (4 day work week)
Salary and Benefits
- Competitive Salary Range of $92,496.72 - $ Annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity
