POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production and packaging operations. Duties include employee safety, ensuring product quality and achievement of daily work targets. The role operates in compliance with established SOPs and processes. The supervisor provides direct guidance and training, collaborates with the department manager to update SOPs, and supports company initiatives in a cGMP workplace.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred. HS Diploma/GED required.
  • 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in a supervisory role.
  • Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees, peers, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills to use Microsoft Office efficiently.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, food safety, and/or cosmetic manufacturing standards preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime or on weekends as workload demands.
SUPERVISOR

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Be on the production floor at least 75% of the time.
  • Be an active driver on issues impacting employee safety, product quality, line efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Repairs
    • Initiate repairs across processing and packaging equipment.
    • Monitor status of repairs.
    • Validate and follow through on completed repairs.
  • Downtime
    • Monitor downtime across all production stages.
    • Participate in efforts to resolve downtime issues.
  • Quality Checks
    • Address production challenges across multiple lines.
    • Maintain technical knowledge of:
      • Quality processes, testing requirements, and standards.
      • Preventative maintenance schedules and updates.
  • Tool Management and Inventory
    • Handle material management, pick lists, scanning, inventory transactions, and lot reconciliation.
    • Manage upstream and downstream processes affecting production schedules.
  • Ensure and monitor that Operators are:
    • Following procedures and cGMP requirements.
    • Performing quality checks and taking appropriate actions.
    • Setting up correctly and documenting activities.
    • Meeting changeover targets and run‑rate targets.
    • Completing required tasks and documentation in systems.
    • Facilitating interactions between operators, maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams.
    • Producing shift summaries that include schedule adherence, equipment performance, quality deviations, and improvement opportunities.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within nutraceutical processing and packaging areas.
  • Take all actions described in company‑controlled documentation for this position.
  • Set goals, objectives, and applicable metrics, and facilitate a process to achieve them.
  • Contribute to corporate quality initiatives through planning, communication, and encouragement of team contributions.
  • Ensure daily floor activities meet or exceed production and shipping deadlines.
  • Interface with Production Planning, Warehousing, Maintenance, Quality Assurance/Control, Purchasing, and Human Resources as necessary.
  • Provide input to the Production Manager to develop, implement, and improve tactical operational plans.
  • Initiate, review, and edit all applicable SOPs for accuracy and compliance.
  • Direct and coordinate assigned employees to ensure compliance with health, safety, and housekeeping policies, including cGMP.
  • Develop cross‑function skills for assigned employees to support anticipated customer needs and production forecast, justifying equipment and staffing requirements.
  • Decrease process variability and improve product quality through training and follow‑up.
  • Conduct regular meetings with subordinates.
  • Complete all assignments, evaluations, tracking reports, and other administrative responsibilities timely and accurately.
  • Coach employees to meet job objectives and manage performance issues effectively.
  • Maximize utilization of manufacturing activities by owning daily operational activities within the area of responsibility.
  • Suggest and aid implementation of new business approaches to meet key performance objectives.
