Overview
Naph Care is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for full‑time night shifts in Henderson, NV to provide medical care to inmates at the Henderson Detention Center.
This position is scheduled for Wednesdays only, with both day and night shift options available. Pay ranges from $40.85 to $43.00 per hour.
Responsibilities- Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals.
- Monitor and document patient health, including vital signs and medical histories.
- Provide direct patient care, triage, and develop individualized care plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
- Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate timely transport to healthcare facilities.
- Educate patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.
- Adhere to correctional facility security protocols and collaborate with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals to ensure safety.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and report relevant information.
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Nevada.
- Active BLS CPR certification (AHA preferred).
- Knowledge of nursing principles, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health‑care laws, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime.
- Integrity, professionalism, and adherence to code of conduct and facility policies.
- Effective interaction with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening conducted by the facility.
Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR, while maintaining balance and endurance throughout a shift.
