Job SummaryThe Shift Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Team Members in maintaining the quality of service and product. This position enforces all procedures in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager. The Shift Supervisor will fulfill any other duties the Store Manager or Assistant Manager assigns and will represent the company in a professional manner.
Essential Job Functions- Assist in supervising a profitable store and creating sales volume growth
- Assist Store Manager and Assistant Manager in planning and executing all sales promotions effectively and efficiently
- Respond pro-actively to prevent and resolve customer service situations
- Answer email and telephone call in a courteous and friendly manner including but not limited to giving store greeting, directions to store location, receiving and filling customer orders
- Responsible for ordering coffee, baked goods and supplies when needed
- Maintain efficient, friendly service standards
- Maintain acceptable amounts of products, baked goods and supplies for orders
- Distribute weekly shipments appropriately
- Complete daily reports as assigned
- Perform opening and closing duties
- Report potential safety hazards and employee accidents to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager and complete personnel forms when necessary
- Inform the Store Manager or Assistant Manager of any operational inconsistencies
- Perpetuate company philosophy and culture
- Delegate duties as necessary
- Assist in the training of new employees
- Motivate staff to maintain quality and consistent product
- Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in educating staff members on all products and services
- Ensure that all customers are educated on our products and services
- Consistently maintain the highest quality product standards
- Follow all company drink recipes and procedures
- Oversee drink making and participate in the re-certification process, monthly under management discretion
- Assist in maintaining a clean, well‑merchandised store
- Assist in following visual presentation plans and standards
- Maintain positive company morale
- Maintain store as if the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager were present
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Register and cash handling experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Work overtime as needed to perform duties and responsibilities
- Work nights, weekends and holidays
- Minimum one‑year retail experience; supervisory position in a specialty store or food establishment preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to learn and fulfill the above requirements of the job description
- Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time; in some instances, the entire shift
- Intermittent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds and, if more, must be with assistance
- Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)
- Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to left
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Ability to be mobile in walk‑in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40°F to
-10°F
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1‑year retail experience
- Supervisory position in a specialty store or food establishment preferred
