Salary: $14.00 - $15.00 Hourly (may increase after 90‑day probation)

Reports to: Store Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)

Schedule: Full-time and part-time available

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations, employee management, payroll, merchandising, and customer relations, ensuring the store remains safe, customer‑focused, and profitable.

• Assist the Store Manager with daily operations, employee management, payroll, merchandising, and customer relations.
• Maintain good customer relations and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
• Prepare and transmit daily bookkeeping, invoicing, and gasoline data as required.
• Complete daily banking and manage cash receipts and disbursements.
• Troubleshoot daily close‑out and shift sales analysis.
• Provide shift coverage when no other employees are available.
• Safeguard and account for cash and meet banking requirements.

• Ability to stand or walk for an entire shift.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 60 lbs. from ground to waist level as needed.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 30 lbs. from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes of shift.
• Ability to push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 lbs.
• Ability to bend at the waist with some twisting for up to an hour of shift.
• Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands, including climbing a ladder for up to 4 hours of shift.

• Perform approximately 95% of duties indoors.
• Exposure to intermittent cold temperature extremes when working in walk‑in cooler or freezer.
• Work in small spaces at times; work independently with minimal direction and periodic supervision.

• Electronic equipment: POS, store telephone, lottery machine, money order machine, phone card machine, EBT machine, Western Union equipment, food‑preparation equipment.
• Manual equipment: cleaning supplies (rubber gloves, mop, broom, degreaser, etc.), flat cart, hand truck, grocery basket.
• Handles liquids, cloth, plastic, glass, paper, rubber, and cleaning solvents.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in retail sales required.
• Experience in C‑Stores preferred.
• Experience managing a retail sales location preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Full understanding of competitive relationships and market drivers.
• Strong merchandising skills.
