Job Summary
Assist in day‑to‑day herbarium operations, including specimen mounting, databasing, and collection management.
Responsibilities- Mount and database incoming specimens, file them to expand the research collection.
- Retrieve specimens for Botany and Biology classes and visiting researchers.
- Sort specimens based on instructor needs for quizzes and in‑class examples.
- Update taxonomy to reflect modern sources, especially the system used in BIOL 331.
- Interact with and assist visiting researchers.
- Supervise students and volunteers in specimen preparation and labeling.
- Assist the collection manager with event planning, including meetings and volunteer events.
$16.00 per hour (exempt), 25.0% full‑time equivalent.
