Police Cadet

Overview

The Henderson Police Department is soliciting applications for the position of Police Cadet. Under general supervision, cadets will perform entry‑level work of routine difficulty to gain hands‑on experience in Public Safety within the Patrol Division.

• Assist in patrol duties under guidance of senior officers.
• Participate in training and learning activities related to public safety.
• Support the department in routine operational tasks.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Age 18 to 22 inclusive (cannot be older than 22 by application date).
• Valid Nevada (or border state) driver's license as defined by NRS 483.
• No convictions for offenses exceeding a misdemeanor or domestic violence.
• Visual acuity 20/40 in one eye, 20/30 in both eyes, correctable.
• Hearing 30 decibels or less per ear.
• Pass a nationwide fingerprint‑based record check and wants‑/warrants check.
• Obtain and maintain Security Awareness and NCIC/NCJIS certification upon hire and recertify as required.
• Optional:
  Participation in the Henderson Police Explorer Program or coursework in Criminal Justice.

• Base pay with potential increase after successful probationary period.
