POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Technician I to support our Facilities Team. This entry‑level to intermediate role is responsible for assisting with general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, painting, preventative maintenance, event setups, and light cleaning duties. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their skills in commercial maintenance while working alongside an experienced team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform basic repairs in common areas, including painting, drywall, minor plumbing, and general upkeep.
  • Support senior technicians and the Facilities Manager with more complex repairs and projects.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed, including some cleaning.
  • Perform light cleaning duties such as trash removal and cleaning spills when necessary.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Manager and team regarding work progress and issues.
  • Help inspect and maintain safety systems, including fire alarms and emergency exits.
  • Coordinate with team members and vendors as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE
  • 0–1 years of general maintenance or related experience preferred (entry‑level candidates with strong work ethic will be considered).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Must pass criminal background check and driving record review.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Constant ability to communicate with the General Manager, department staff, co‑workers, outside contractors, vendors, residents, and the general public.
  • Constant manual dexterity in operating equipment and performing duties.
  • Constant visual acuity for operating equipment and performing duties.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders and stools; ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Frequency mobility required on interior surfaces (carpet, tile and stone floors) and exterior surfaces (grass, pavement and desert landscaping).
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Occasional push/pull exerting 50 pounds of force while performing duties.
  • Occasional extended hours include weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Occasional work in small, confined spaces.
  • Occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Mental alertness and attention to detail required in performing all functions.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and organize/prioritize workload to ensure completion of all tasks within established time frames.
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English and possess oral/written communication skills.
  • Must exercise good judgment and common sense and possess good reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Technical Skills – Basic knowledge of general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or construction). Willingness to learn and develop new skills in commercial building maintenance.
  • Tools and Safety – Familiarity with hand and power tools. Understanding of basic safety practices; OSHA knowledge is a plus.
  • Communication and Work Ethic – Strong work ethic and reliability. Good communication skills and a team‑first attitude. Commitment to providing quality service.
  • Certifications – EPA & CPO Certification – Preferred (or willingness to obtain). Vocational Training is a plus.
