The Technician II performs a variety of tasks under the direct supervision of the Lead Technician. The primary role is to apply industry-specific tools and equipment while following processes and protocols that meet RMC quality standards. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager/Operations Manager and requires interfacing with other company departments.
Key Responsibilities- Follow direction from Lead Technician and ask questions when necessary.
- Have a general understanding of restoration industry tools, equipment, processes, and safety protocols.
- Determine equipment and materials usage when assisting on job completion.
- Perform tasks to help expedite job completion; may include pickup and order materials, moving client contents, performing construction repairs at highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards.
- Lift and pack away contents in boxes and furniture; haul materials, trash, and stocking jobs as directed.
- Assist Lead Technician in maintaining company vehicle and restock vehicle supplies as needed.
- Complete time reporting paperwork and submit timecards promptly.
- Attend safety briefings and training as required.
- Adhere to company safe work practice guidelines and use PPE regularly.
- May be required to wear respiratory protection during certain activities.
- One year minimum work experience in a construction or similar environment.
- General understanding of basic safety protocols.
- Physically fit to perform the duties described.
- May require a valid driver’s license.
- Possess dexterity, good balance, and eye‑hand coordination.
- Good grasp of English language is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly to Lead Technician or Superintendent.
- Approved respirator physical and fit testing.
- Good understanding of hand tools, power tools and mild chemicals.
- Ability to work with various building materials.
- Ability to read and understand basic written instructions.
- Use of good judgement and works well under pressure.
- Regulatory Requirements: Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required PPE may include gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, and safety footwear. All employees must wear PPE as required for their specific roles and job site conditions.
- Physical Clearance: Successfully complete a pulmonary function test, including a respirator fit test.
- Physical Hazards: Potential exposure to vibration from equipment, risk of falls, extreme temperatures, and high noise levels.
- Chemical Hazards: Exposure to solvents, adhesives, paints, and cleaning agents; requires proper use, handling, and storage.
- Biological Hazards: Exposure to mold, bacteria, and other pathogens common in restoration environments.
- Safety Training: Complete all mandatory safety training sessions including hazard communication, emergency response, and safe equipment handling.
- Reporting Safety Concerns: Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents or injuries to supervisors without fear of retaliation.
- Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with evacuation routes and emergency contacts.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
