To better support complex projects, Helix Electric has a need for Electrical Trainees holding a valid State Electrical Trainee Card.

- Assist with assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial and residential settings.
- Prepare work area for installation of equipment.
- Install or assist with installation of electrical components.
- Connect wiring and equipment as per code and job specification.
- Operate equipment only if trained and certified (e.g., powder‑activated tools, JLG lifts, other operations requiring certification and training).
- Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems.
- Read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
- Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans.
- Secure and lock up equipment after use.
- Deliver safe projects on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Assist with complex electrical installations in a fast‑paced, fast‑production environment.
- Proficiency in NM (Romex) and/or MC wiring methods is a plus.
- Work from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 14 ft, A‑frame ladders, all‑size extension ladders). Carry and relocate up to a 12‑ft step ladder by oneself.
- Personal weight and tools must not exceed ladder weight limits (Class 1‑250 lb., Class 1A‑300 lb.).
- Work required in all elements depending on job location and time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves always, respirator when required).
- Work 8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night shifts as required.
- Perform essential functions including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 lb and push/pull objects.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
