Under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Technician III leads and participates in a wide variety of advanced skilled journey-level duties that include preventative, corrective, repair, servicing and installation of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in the Minting Operation. This lead level position requires higher level critical thinking and problem solving, with the ability to take on major build‑out projects, major repairs, higher level troubleshooting and project planning regarding plant and machinery improvements.

The position requires availability for on‑call shifts as needed and flexibility to cover staffing gaps when they arise.

• Test machinery and make any necessary adjustments for machine product changeovers.
• High‑level troubleshooting skills to maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, high and low electrical systems.
• Weld, solder and connect a variety of pipes, including copper and PVC for water and air runs.
• Operate forklift, hoist, rig, align, move and set up machinery or equipment.
• Install machinery according to cut sheets, plans and drawings, including all wiring, plumbing, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with VFDs, motor starters, contractors, relays, relay logic, solenoids, coils, and control panel building. Must be able to read electrical schematics to aid in troubleshooting, installations and builds.
• Experience with PLC, ladder logic, low‑voltage wiring and associated controls.
• Experience with hydraulics, high‑pressure cylinders, directional controls, logic valves, pumps and motors. Must be able to read hydraulic schematics to aid in troubleshooting and installations.
• Experience with pneumatic systems, cylinders, solenoids, coils, directional valves, flows and related pressures.
• Experience in high‑voltage systems, wiring, grounding, wire gauge size relating to amperage, breaker sizing and familiarity with NEC codes.
• Experience with cooling towers, chillers, associated water systems, familiarity with water flows and pressures.
• Accept direction, feedback and pay attention to details relating to project timelines and quality of work.
• Complete assigned projects in a timely manner with quality as priority.
• Lead, mentor, and train lower‑level techs to bring them up to levels that benefit the department.
• Take initiative to tackle and solve all problems with minimal direction.
• Use CMMS system to aid in daily work order requests, project tracking, charge parts and failure tracking.
• Demonstrate predictable, reliable attendance with a high‑level commitment to plant operations.
