Job Description

This position is a Master‑level Technician who provides a high skill level for accurate vehicle maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles with a focus on exceptional customer satisfaction in a cost‑effective manner. A Technician may work independently or in a team environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspect vehicles for mechanical deficiencies. Perform light and major repairs. Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics. Interact with customers and display exceptional interpersonal skills while driving service center’s performance with the highest integrity and trust.
  • Based on certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance, including OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune‑ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive‑line components, etc.
  • Maintain/repair equipment (cable trailers, laptop docking stations, etc.).
  • Keep shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance with safety standards. Dispose of all fluids safely and in accordance with all regulations.
  • Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records. Up‑fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
  • Perform complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, design, and fabrication.
  • Assure prompt repairs by coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs. Perform roadside assistance as needed.
  • Provide custom equipment by engaging in equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks, including welding.
  • Ensure availability of specialized trucks by troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic systems, generators, electrical systems, hybrids, and on‑board computer systems.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace general automotive parts and accessories. Conduct a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs, including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety, emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics.
  • Have medium/heavy truck experience, booms/hydraulics, electrical, and complex repair design and fabrication experience.
  • Be skilled in diesel and transmission repairs.
  • Possess advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex repairs.
  • Work on multiple applications from Light‑Duty to Class A‑Heavy trucks, mechanical equipment, machinery, passenger vehicles, and more.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 years’ experience in a related field, or a higher degree/certification with 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Current or attainable Master Level ASE certification (preferred).
  • Continue training to maintain current ASE status and adapt to technology and fleet changes.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required. Must hold a valid state‑of‑residence driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Vision: close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (tools, equipment).
  • Transmission experience preferred.
  • Diesel experience preferred.
  • Work on multiple applications from Light‑Duty to Class A‑Heavy trucks, mechanical equipment, machinery, passenger vehicles, and more.
  • Extensive training and certification with 5–10 years of hands‑on diesel repair experience.
  • Knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements for medium and heavy truck applications.
  • Ability to obtain Class A or B Operator’s License if required.
  • Current valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the card has four months or less remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
