Position Overview

Budget Watchers is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Jobs & Day Training (JDT) Staff team member to provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities participating in our Jobs & Day Training program.

In this role, you will work directly with clients to provide pre-vocational training, life-skills development, job coaching, and daily support designed to increase independence and help clients work toward their individual employment and personal goals. JDT Staff work collaboratively with JDT Supervisors, Program Management, Desert Regional Center (DRC) personnel, families, guardians, and community partners to implement individualized service plans and provide meaningful, person-centered services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support and supervision to clients participating in Jobs & Day Training services.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with clients, families, guardians, and members of the client's support team.
  • Assist clients in working toward individualized employment, vocational, life-skills, and personal development goals.
  • Encourage clients to develop greater independence and participate in the most integrated environment appropriate to their needs.
  • Provide positive, individualized support based on each client's abilities, goals, and service plan.
  • Assist with the implementation of vocational goals and strategies designed to meet individual client needs.
  • Observe client performance and progress and provide information that assists with developing measurable goals.
  • Develop and conduct client training activities, including life skills, pre-vocational skills, employment readiness, and job coaching.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, redirection, and constructive feedback to clients.
  • Accurately gather, maintain, and submit required client information, statistical data, documentation, and reports within established deadlines.
  • Assist in supervising clients as assigned and help maintain a safe, supportive, and professional program environment.
  • Attend staff and team meetings as required.
  • Cross-train and provide front desk/transportation coverage when needed.
  • Work flexible hours when required based on client and program schedules.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the JDT Supervisor and/or Program Manager.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • A genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities as they develop vocational skills, increase independence, and work toward employment goals.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide patient, respectful, and professional support to clients with varying needs and abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, coworkers, families, guardians, and community partners.
  • Ability to problem-solve and assist clients in addressing barriers to employment and greater independence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of general office equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various assignments and program locations as needed.
  • Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background and fingerprint checks.
