Program Overview

Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences, the Radiography program head is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Radiography program according to JRCERT and ARRT guidelines and college policy. The program head also provides effective instruction in assigned classes by implementing active learning strategies focused on student learning outcomes. Additionally, the program head is responsible for developing and maintaining clinical affiliates and managing the program budget.

Teleworking

This position is eligible for up to two days of teleworking per week after 9 months of employment, consistent with the College’s Teleworking Policy.

Program Management and Leadership
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff to create a positive and empowering learning environment for all students.
  • Maintain programmatic accreditation standards from JRCERT and ARRT.
  • Collaboratively with faculty to lead program improvement efforts including but not limited to strategy development for 3‑year program review, advisory committee engagement, curriculum design, and accreditation.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Health Sciences regarding course assignments each semester.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clinical site partners.
  • Actively participate as a member of assigned institutional committees and attend scheduled program/department meetings.
  • Initiate and participate in student recruitment efforts each semester.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in online delivery systems as required by the college.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technology required for teaching and learning and administrative processes.
  • Participate in college‑wide collaboration to support innovation across all schools.
  • Engage in professional development related to program and college growth.
  • Attend at least one professional conference per academic year with students.
  • Represent the Radiography program in community service activities.
  • Update and maintain the Radiography webpage for public information.
  • Manage the Radiography program budget.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean.
Teaching and Learning
  • Create, maintain and update course documents such as syllabi, assignments, tests, etc. Submit course syllabi to the Academic Dean for review each semester.
  • Update courses in the College’s LMS prior to start of each semester.
  • Maintain a master plan for all courses.
  • Teach and conduct assigned class, lab, and student clinical experiences according to established meeting patterns.
  • Notify the Dean of Health Sciences and campus personnel of changes to class, lab and/or clinical dates and/or times.
  • Communicate with students via LMS as appropriate per course design (enhanced, hybrid or online).
  • Provide both in‑person and electronic feedback to students regarding grades and progress in courses.
  • Record attendance and grades as required by the College within semester deadlines.
  • Inform the Dean of Health Sciences of any student issues (academic, attendance, behavior, cheating, plagiarism) as soon as possible.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and demonstrate use of results in course and program improvements.
  • Maintain accurate class records indicating student membership hours, academic progress, student grading, etc.
  • Recommend textbooks and/or other instructional supplies and equipment to the faculty and the Dean of Health Sciences annually.
