Secondary Teacher responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instruction to facilitate student learning and development.

• Management of Instructional Time Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment before each lesson; begin promptly; maintain high student time‑on‑task.
• Management of Student Behavior Establish rules for verbal participation, movement, and class logistics; monitor behavior during all activities; intervene promptly while maintaining dignity.
• Instructional Presentation Begin with review, introduce objectives, and deliver content clearly; use examples, demonstrations, and appropriate questioning; manage pacing and transitions; summarize key points at lesson end.
• Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance Maintain clear work standards and due dates; circulate during class work; use oral, written or other products to check progression; pose questions clearly.
• Instructional Feedback Provide timely feedback on in‑class and out‑of‑class work; affirm correct responses; offer sustaining feedback for incorrect or no response.
• Facilitating Instruction Plan instruction aligned with system goals; use diagnostics to revise objectives; maintain accurate records; match resources to student needs.
• Interacting Within the Educational Environment Treat all students fairly; collaborate effectively with students, co‑workers, parents, and community.
• Performing Non‑Instructional Duties Execute assigned non‑instructional tasks; adhere to laws, policies, and regulations; pursue professional development.
• Additional Job Functions Perform other related work as required.

Education: Degree in education or a related area qualifying for licensure by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.

Physical Requirements: Ability to use various classroom equipment; light work tolerance; minimal force.

Data Conception: Ability to compare and judge data characteristics.

Interpersonal Communication: Ability to convey information and receive instructions.

Language Ability: Read and prepare correspondence, reports, and instructional materials.

Intelligence and Aptitude: Logical thinking, problem definition, data analysis, mathematical operations, spatial inspection, motor coordination, and cursor advisories.
