Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and presents instruction and instructional environments that help English Language Learners learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their English Language Acquisition, academic skills, and social development.
• Monitors compliance with federal, state, and local policies governing the education of English Language Learners and the English as a Second Language Program (Title III, Elementary and Secondary Education Act
  -1965 I Every Student Succeeds Act
  -2015).
• Screen potential Multilingual Learner students with the WIDA screener.
• Help the district test all Multilingual Learners with the WIDA ACCESS test during the testing window.

• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid North Carolina Teaching License
• ESL teacher experience preferred.

• Knowledge of various methods of teaching English to non-native speakers.
• Ability to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to organize and communicate effectively.
• Ability to use technology to access Multilingual Learner students ACCESS scores and information.
