Role Description

The Assistant Principal is a full-time, on‑site school administrator role located in Henderson, NC. This position supports the Principal in overseeing daily school operations, instructional programs, and student services to ensure a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting with teacher supervision and evaluations, supporting curriculum implementation, monitoring student performance data, and coordinating interventions. The Assistant Principal helps manage student discipline, family and community engagement, and school events, while promoting inclusive practices and adherence to district policies.

This role also involves collaborating with staff on professional development, leading or participating in school improvement initiatives, and responding to day‑to‑day operational needs as they arise.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated instructional leadership skills, including experience supporting curriculum implementation and using student data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Strong organizational and school operations skills, such as managing schedules, coordinating programs, and ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, staff, and community partners in a professional and inclusive manner.
  • Ability to foster a positive school climate, including skills in student behavior management, conflict resolution, and promoting equity and inclusion.
  • Relevant administrative or educational experience in K–12 settings; experience in North Carolina public schools is beneficial.
  • Current or eligible North Carolina school administrator license (or equivalent credential) and a master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • Capacity to handle multiple priorities, make sound decisions under pressure, and model integrity, fairness, and respect in all interactions.
