Registered Nurse; RN Surgery

Overview

Registered Nurse, Surgery. Job Type: Full time | 4 days a week (10-hour shift) | 6:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Provides direct patient care mainly in the Outpatient surgery unit and will cross-train to the PACU using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The Outpatient Surgery Unit cares for all outpatients having surgery. The RN will be responsible for PACU call on average 4-5 days a month and some weekend call (approximately every 8th weekend).

Director or Manager of Department.

Registered Nurse gets the patient ready for surgery, provides care after surgery and discharges them home.

Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.

Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is present for all employees.

Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
• BLS
• ACLS and PALS preferred
