Nature of WorkUnder limited supervision, responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of water and waste disposal systems.
Qualifications and LicensureHigh school diploma or equivalents, and 5 years job experience related to nature of work, and or Equivalent combination of education and work experience. Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License. Must maintain a safe driving record. Knowledge of safety precautions and hazards associated with job.
Duties and Responsibilities- Measures, cuts, threads, assembles and installs pipes and tubing.
- Eliminates leaks by replacing valves or by replacing faulty fittings or sections in line.
- Installation/Replacement of plumbing fixtures ie: toilets, water coolers, water heaters, and faucets.
- Drain maintenance and unclogging drains.
- Replace worn parts.
- Repairs to irrigation systems
- Prepare work orders
- Assist other trades when needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
- Requires the ability to climb and maneuver on ladders, scaffolding, and/or in tight spaces
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment
- Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Ability to use and care for tools and equipment
- Ability to follow direction
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with building staff and associates
